Intellectual Property for Business

In the knowledge driven economy of the 21st century, intellectual property (IP) is a key consideration in day-to-day business decisions.New brands, products and creative designs appear almost daily on the market are the results of continuous human innovation and creativity. Many such innovations come from the small and medium enterprises. Unlike large enterprise,SME's are not aware of the intellectual property system or the protection it can provide for their inventions, brands and designs. Therefore their creative and innovative capacities are not fully exploited.

An unprotected good invention or creation will fall prey to larger competitors that are in a better position to commercialise the product or service at a more affordable price, leaving the original inventor or creator without any finanical benefit or reward. Adequate protection of an individual's or enterprise's intellectual property is a crucial step in deterring potential infringement and in turning ideas in to business assets with real market value. Taking full advantage of the IP system enables enterprises to profit from their innovative capacity and creativity, which encourages and helps further innovation.

Acquiring IP protection is a crucial step, but effective IP managment means more than just protecting an individual's or company's inventions, market its brands.license its know-how to other enterprises, conclude joint ventures and other contractual agreements involving IP, and effectively monitor and enforce its intellectual property rights.

Joachim and Janson educates individual and business onwners about the importance of protecting their intellectual proprety rights and helps them in managing and deriving maximum benefit out of their intangible assets.
